PAULO STAGNARO

With an extensive resumé that includes performances with Sting, Paul Simon, James Taylor, Paquito D'Rivera, Issac Delgado, Angelique Kidjo, Paulo is one of the leading voices in today's generation of Latin Percussionists. He has been a part of international superstar Ricky Martin’s band since 2014.

Paulo has performed in festivals, clubs, theaters, and stadiums around the world, in the Pop, Jazz, Latin Jazz, and World Music genres. Garnering two Grammy Awards along the way.

Bringing together the knowledge, tradition, modern technique, and evolving possibilities of percussion playing, the Conga Chops community was founded in 2018. Combining the sounds of the streets of Latin America, with years of experience as a side-man, bandleader, and performer, Paulo has tailored Conga Chops to create a completely new medium for percussion players from all over, to access a world-class curriculum via video lessons, self-study courses, and an immersive community of students, teachers, and professionals alike.

MARCOS LÓPEZ

Marcos Lopez is one of the most in-demand young percussionists of his generation. A native of Puerto Rico, Marcos honed his skills in the streets, schools and clubs of the vibrant island, becoming an integral member of the salsa youth super group N’Klabe at the age of 14.

Since then Marcos has performed with a who’s who of modern salsa giants including Issac Delgado, Victor Manuelle, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Tony Vega, Andy Montañez, Ismael Miranda, La India and Tito Nieves, among others. Outside of the Salsa world, he has also toured and performed with m Mexican superstar, Thalia, Grammy Winner Lila Downs, and the Grammy nominated folkloric group Plena Libre. He is currently on tour with salsa superstar Marc Anthony.

Hailing from a deep musical lineage spearheaded by his grandfather Sammy Ayala, a founding member of the world-renowned Cortijo y su Combo, as well as receiving classical training throughout his youuth, Marcos has become a versatile multi-percussionist with swing, chops, and musicality second to none.

MARCOS TORRES

A versatile percussionist, producer, and Grammy Award-Winning engineer, Marcos has been at the forefront of creating a fresh new sound within the Salsa genre for over a decade. His respect for the tradition and trajectory of this music, as well as his love and knowledge of Hip-Hop, R&B, and aptitude for sound curation as a whole, have led to him to help push the boundaries of the genre as we know it today.

Born into a musical family of Puerto Rican and Mexican heritage, Marcos was gifted a bongo at the age of three, and never looked back. He has since turned into one of his generation’s most respected and sought after percussionists, performing with salsa superstars La India, Tito Nieves, Ismael Miranda, Jerry Rivera, Obie Bermudez, and the legendary Issac Delgado among many others.

He is currently working out of New York City in varied roles as a percussionist, producer and engineer with rising artists from across Latin America including Jeremy Bosch, Fer Casillas, Tania Matus and Flaco Navaja.
